PAACO Seeks Next Executive Director
A note from Collette Kaster, Executive Director:
Since 2016, it has been my privilege to serve as the Executive Director of the Professional Animal Auditor Certification Organization (PAACO). When I made a mid‑career shift from a large corporate role to a small association, I wasn’t sure what the future would hold. What I found was an incredibly rewarding opportunity to help strengthen PAACO’s mission and build a dedicated, high‑performing team. Together, we have tripled the number of certified audits, auditors, and training opportunities, and expanded PAACO’s role as the trusted authority in animal welfare auditing.
In 2019, I also began serving as Executive Director for the American Meat Science Association (AMSA), and leading both organizations over the past seven years has been an energizing and impactful experience. As PAACO continues to grow, it has reached a point where it now needs a leader who can devote a greater share of their time. For that reason—and to allow me to take a small step toward retirement—we are beginning the search for PAACO’s next Executive Director.
I plan to remain actively involved with PAACO and its mission of improving animal welfare through auditor training and audit certification. Supporting PAACO’s continued development and the success of the new leadership team will remain a priority for me, and I look forward to contributing in any capacity that is helpful.
